Results from several countries using the same definitions and methods can show similarities and be complementary between countries where data availibility is different.
Disease burden across countries
Similarities in results across countries can increase confidence in the robustness of disease specific observations. Additional presentation per country, also gives valuable local understanding and insights.
Comparative effectiveness across countries
In some cases, comparing novel treatments, often associated with initial limited clinical use, lower number of patients and clinical outcome events are to be expected. Hence, in some studies pooling results from several countries might be warranted to increase statistical power.
